As a diehard fan of both Scott Aukerman and Adam Scott, I was excited as all hell to hear their new podcast, "U Talking U2 to Me?". The show, now on it’s second episode, is finally revealing itself as what it is and what it isn’t and what it is, is absolutely fantastic. It’s also surprisingly insightful and funny as all hell. Having not ever been a massive U2 fan, I was curious how interesting I would find 90 minute episodes of two dudes bro’ing out about the band, but the relaxed vibe and continual bits make for a breezy listen and a nice celebration of the music of one of the world’s most popular bands. There’s clearly a feeling out process as the two hosts get spun off on tangential jokes that don’t always close back in on the topic at hand, but that’s all of the fun. Initially, each episode was intended to cover three album arcs of U2’s career, but in the second episode, it’s clear that’s not going to be as easy as intended, and it may take a little longer to get to where they’re going, but that’s just fine as it’s insanely enjoyable along the way.
If you’re working and you need something fun and music related to occupy some time, you can’t go wrong with this one. Of course, if you’re looking for just something to make you laugh, any number of Earwolf’s Podcast's should do the trick (I'd recommend Comedy Bang Bang, How Did This Get Made, and the absolutely batshit crazy and beyond hilarious, Andy Daly Podcast Pilot Project)
